“Paola Delfin’s mural at MUAF 2022-2023 invites us to consider the importance of our shared sense of being. Her meticulous painting technique brings alive the vibrant pace of Sassoon Docks, with fluid lines and finely painted tones that reveal the beauty, strength, and vitality of the working women there.
The mural was inspired by Paola’s visit to the docks at dawn and the activity she observed there. Created in her signature monochromatic style, it is a tender portrait of the community – the women, their saris, smiles, voices, and friendships. “The mural is a reminder of the importance of community and teamwork, of supporting each other,” says Paola.
Paola Delfin is an artist from Mexico City. She uses her work to explore the impact of feminine beauty and draws much of her inspiration from daily life.”
