“The murals by Ellena Lourens are never imposed on the landscape but seamlessly integrate into the environment, thanks to her minimalist style, which is emphasized by the use of monochromatic color palettes. For the works created at CVTà Street Fest 2023, Ellena drew inspiration from the history and architecture of Civitacampomarano, as well as the deep relationships that characterize our small community.
Through an intuitive approach that derives the composition of the artwork from the depicted emotions, Ellena played with the contrast between the care we put into the corners of the village and the sense of loss and abandonment left behind by families forced to emigrate.”
