““In my house”
A year ago, I painted this child on a housing project in the Champagne neighborhood of the city of Laon. She looked like a little girl who lived on the third floor and who came every day to watch me paint for hours.
Old people came regularly to ask me about the meaning of my painting, all the while 13-year-old kids were dealing just around the corner.
A deep dive into the heart of peripheral France of the declassed and the sacrificed popular classes, of which we never speak.”
