“Sharing with you the final pics of our new Generation Equality Mural, we just finished painting with artist Hera in the heart of Berlin!
Looking forward to seeing you all to the official Inauguration this Friday July 28th @3:00 PM, in front of the wall.
This mural marks the second year of implementation of the UN Women Generation Equality action plan, which, amongst other things, calls for the promotion of women’s economic empowerment and their recognition in the care economy.
It showcases a middle-aged nurse confidently crossing her arms over her chest. Serving as the backbone of her community and supporting women from all ages and ethnicities, she embodies strength and resilience. On her left shoulder, her daughters gaze towards the future, driven by ambition and prepared for upcoming challenges. The mural symbolizes the invaluable contributions of care workers and the significance of intergenerational solidarity in advancing gender equality.
After Mexico, Paris and New York, this is the fifth of our ongoing series of Generation Equality Murals painted across the world in partnership with UN Women, in order to accelerate their mission to reach “Gender Equality” (SDG5) by 2030.”
