““A two headed horse” or “Divide et Impera” For this wall I got inspired by the recent protests in France and the clashes between the population. Among the protest for Macron decisions over pensions, police murdered an innocent kid, this ignited riots and with this some vandalism as well. He even treated with cutting social media, as if in North Korea or China. I painted a two headed horse, as representation of a divided nation, between the ones protesting social inequities and the ones that reject the protests based on the vandalism. “divide et impera” said Traiano Boccalini, or divide and reign. I think the aim of politics is to keep population divided in order to control them, poor and rich, nationals and immigrants, police against rioters, and this strategy keeps people controlled and separated. If people would understand this, instead of fighting each others we could use the same energy to improve our lives and combat the real enemy; the corrupt and crooked, the politicians, the bankers. Behind the horse is Marianne, the representation of the liberty from Delacroix as a reminder that France democracy was born from protests, so to go against the right to protests is to go against democracy itself.”
