“In this mural, Trespassers have portrayed the kaleidoscope landscape of Nochikuppam – a place teeming with stories, and experiences of the fisherfolk communities living by the Madras Lighthouse that guards their livelihoods in the sea.
The artists portray the essence of Nochikuppam by centering on the iconic image of the people supporting Kattumaram—the traditional Tamil watercraft made of intertwined tree trunks.
By playing around with scale, juxtapositions, and encounters, the mural aims to present a multi-layered story that unfolds in real-time across the walls.”
