My contribution to Walls of Wexford. The mural was inspired by the art centres history firstly as a trade centre and then as a centre for the arts where locals would congregate to enjoy shows and dance.
I learned the first magpies in Ireland were sighted in Wexford. There are two stories of how the flock of 12 got here. The first caught a tail wind and flew over from England. The second (which has been verbally passed down by generations) were brought over from India by a trader in the 1600’s.
