“This mural is a reversion of one I painted in Miami in 2015 for Wynwood Walls. As in the previous one, I was invited to work in one of the main immigration destinations of the United States. For this reason I decided to reinterpret this work in San Antonio, TX. Although they have different backgrounds, both communities, in addition to a common dream, carry with them the sounds, the colors and the flavors of their homelands, along with the challenge of integrating and preserving their traditions in a society that tends towards homogeneity.
The composition was inspired by a poem written by Mario Benedetti that refers to camaraderie, to those who fight side by side for a better life and in which standing together “elbow to elbow, we’re much more than two””
