“Angelina is the best memory I can share from this mural..
Angelina is the name of the old lady living alone in that little house I painted.
She had a hard life and yet, in the extreme heat of south italian summer she welcomed me, talked to me, invited me into her apartment when the sun was raging offering me fresh water and fruit.
Life was ruthless with her and yet she’s always been so gentle and caring.
I told her it’s never too late to find some peace and lightness in life, like the ballerina in the painting she like so much, that’s why I chose to name the artwork with her name. She was at the same time proud and kinda ashamed of other people’s opinions about my choice.
I hope she believed my words more than I did.”
