“I was lucky enough to paint this beautiful Irish pub which is one of the oldest buildings in the area run by Tommy groan – the Uks Oldest Publican still pulling pints at 91!
This piece is inspired by the parakeets that currently reside in Manchester . I loved the theories and urban myths of how parakeets made it into the wild, especially the theory blaming Jimmy Hendrix released them or that the birds escaped from a film set in the 1950s.
Although parakeets are a marmite subject they have no significant impact currently to the UK wildlife they are here to stay after being here over 50 plus and have been sighted as early as the late 1800s!”
