“For a long time, I admired the legacy of Jean Michel Basquiat, not only for his work but also for his role in the graffiti scene when it was just beginning. S.A.M.O, which was his name on the street when he did graffiti, is present in the history of graffiti in NY and it seemed to me that I owed him this last tribute in which I present him as a child, with the innocence of kid who dreams of being someday a great artist making drawings in his notebooks, creating the basis of his adult artistic practice.”
