“Sharing with you the final pics of our new #EcosystemRestorationMural we just finished painting in Detroit with artists Nomad Clan. This mural is a pledge to restore ecosystems globally and bring tree equity to every community to take action for climate. This is a cry to awaken civic advocacy.
This piece is part of a series of murals that we are painting across the world in support of the UN Environment Programme and FAO‘s Decade on Ecosystem Restoration, a global effort to halt and restore biodiversity to prevent dramatic climate change by 2030. It is also part of the first series of the #DetroitBeTheChangeMurals we just painted in Downtown Detroit as a prelude to the NFL draft of 2024.
This mural features a statue of liberty, looking up to the skies and overgrown with an abundance of nature, trees, and forestry. The artwork seeks in our pioneering and egalitarian spirit the strength to reclaim our urban landscapes equally and for everybody, particularly in America’s rust belt cities. This is about fighting for tree equity in our cities and, more generally, for a thriving nature on our planet.
According to FAO, trees play a key role in climate change, as urban forests are responsible for almost one-fifth of the country’s captured and stored carbon emissions. Preventing the degradation of our environment and restoring damaged ecosystems can provide a more promising future for planet Earth. And, tree equity is part of the solution.”

Transforming Downtown Detroit into an open-air museum!
As a prelude to the NFL Draft in Detroit in April 2024, Street Art for Mankind is creating a massive “Be The Change” art walk made of large inspiring murals, in partnership with the City of Detroit, that will welcome visitors to the streets of Downtown Detroit.
The murals, inspired by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s), celebrate humanity’s shared values and Detroiters’ resilience. It is a reminder that everyone, and anyone, can be the change”. Quoting Mahatma Gandhi: “Be the Change you wish to see in the world”!…”
