“In these very houses lived the river keeper. A local beloved man who’s peculiar stories made me imagine him as a surreal figure inhabiting the river Vez.
Logs and debris were collected to avoid floods and rocks were heated in the sun to warm it’s waters.
I painted a calm river with greenish hues and the man whose mind is blazing red.
The river bed actually references the max height an actual flood reached. Crazy.”
