““Athena“ – Modern Mythology
Athena, the symbol of female strength. She won over the city of Athens by planting a tiny seed that grew into a magnificent olive tree. The people of Athens chose her over Poseidon, and the city became hers.
In history, powerful women like Isadora Duncan have sparked movements. Just as Athena’s seed shaped Athens, Isadora’s passion gave birth to modern dance, celebrated worldwide.
I was asked to create a mural honoring Isadora Duncan in Vyronas, Athens by Awesome Athens Experiences and Municipality of Byron. I decided to connect her to the legendary craft goddess, Athena. Here’s my modern take on Athena as Isadora Duncan!”
