“This summer I participated in a beautiful festival (Ferrara La Città Del Cinema) that takes place in Gherardi, a place immersed in the Ferrara countryside, the project includes a series of wall paintings that have cinema as their common thread and more precisely the cinema linked to this territory.
Princivalle, repentant, goes to his mother and sister to tell what happened and together they go to the riverbank to wait for the body to be returned…
The painting, with digital errors for aesthetic and conceptual purposes, represents this scene from the film, the dramatic epilogue unleashed during the riot, the people in the throes of exaltation attack Berta, insulting her because she is considered a “crumiro”, seeing her sister in tears, Princivalle runs to the town to seek justice but, led by a slander to believe that Orbino himself has dishonored Berta, he kills him without restraint. The body is then thrown into the river…
The meeting with Bacchelli gave me the opportunity to see expressed the torments and passions of a society in constant turmoil, pushed and rejected by poverty, in search of impossible adjustments and balances, to represent the objective drama that belongs to all times and, even today, of ours, for this very reason the image has been represented as a “system error”.”
