“Sharing with you the final pics of “Green Legacy”, our new mural painted with artist Bimbo Adenugba about access to affordable and clean energy for all, the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 7. This is about the importance of the creation of a sustainable future in which technology works in harmony with nature. The piece is part of the first series of the #DetroitBeTheChangeMurals that we just finished painting in Downtown Detroit as a prelude to the NFL draft of 2024.
This mural depicts a world where green energies are accessible to all and a source of growth and prosperity. While Detroit turns towards solar energy to power all of its municipal buildings, and the car manufacturing industry turns even more towards electric, the artist highlights a colorful and thriving world that we bequeath to our children.
According to United Nations, FAO and UN Environment Programme, energy is at the heart of the climate challenge – and key to the solution. The science is clear: to avoid the worst impacts of climate change, emissions need to be reduced by almost half by 2030 and reach net-zero by 2050. To achieve this, we need to end our reliance on fossil fuels and invest in alternative sources of energy that are clean, accessible, affordable, sustainable, and reliable. The good news is that renewable energy sources are plentiful and all around us.”

Transforming Downtown Detroit into an open-air museum!
As a prelude to the NFL Draft in Detroit in April 2024, Street Art for Mankind is creating a massive “Be The Change” art walk made of large inspiring murals, in partnership with the City of Detroit, that will welcome visitors to the streets of Downtown Detroit.
The murals, inspired by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s), celebrate humanity’s shared values and Detroiters’ resilience. It is a reminder that everyone, and anyone, can be the change”. Quoting Mahatma Gandhi: “Be the Change you wish to see in the world”!…”
