“Yodokabe 2023 has come to a successful conclusion.
This is my 20th work with a solo wall featuring a nightingale! To celebrate the Hanshin Tigers becoming number one in Japan for the first time in 38 years, Yodokabe ended this year with a fastball and BAKI Tiger Moonlight Bamboo Forest.
The folding screen depicting dragons and tigers drawn by Kano Sanraku, from which the tiger was sampled, was produced by DOPPEL in the past, but looking at it again, there is also a leopard-like animal drawn by NUT, and the tiger and leopard prints were once worn by Osaka’s aunts. Coupled with the animal print style I see, I feel a strange connection.
Osaka is the best! Let’s get excited for 2025 and the future! Seriously, Osaka will become the gateway to Asia in the world using murals as media! I hope I was able to express my enthusiasm.”
