“What can a park be?
This is the question the community around Randy Padmore Park are meeting to talk about. Before the pandemic this park was a place for small children to be free. For people to meet, for birthday parties. To rest during the day, put your feet in the wading pool.
Then the pandemic which turned the park into a home for too many people. The park became a place of uncertainty, a place of sadness. Now the community has come together again to bring the zombie park back to life.
We now have new neighbours, thanks to Mr Myl and the characters who now live on the walls of once direlict building in the middle of the park.
The murals on the buildings remind us of change. The zany fun characters have brought a smile to everyone’s faces and have given us the courage to make the park what we want it to be. This is a park take back situation.”
