“During the month of May, I worked on one of my largest paintings to date on the facade of Fairland Studios in Vlaardingen.
On the former Unilever site an entirely new city district called U district will be built in the coming years. The rough immediate surroundings on the Maas River with views of the harbor and passing cargo ships was an absolute dream location for one of my paintings.
This triptych refers to the history of the former soap factory that was located there, the importance of the port and fisheries for Vlaardingen and a look to the future.”
