“My grandfather was a mechanical fitter, so it wouldn’t have been a problem for him to build his vehicle to his image. In his spare time, he was a fisherman and a nature lover, always taking care of the big trees in his garden. I still remember the “honey sales” sign on his front gate, because he was also a beekeeper and defender of bees.
He sadly ended his days in a wheelchair in a nursing home at the age of 95, but I can still picture him today, jumping from tree to tree, roaming the fields and observing the flowers he used to photograph.
I was lucky enough to inaugurate the Le M.U.R. à Lure last week, the region where he lived during the 2nd World War, also known as the region of 1000 ponds.
This wall is a new beginning, I hope in a long line of new creations and encounters, and I simply wanted to dedicate it to my Italian grandfather who passed away last month. Rest in power!”
