“The new mural in Poplar features two portraits: Queenie Watts (by me) & Francis Bacon (by Jimmy). Queenie, who was a singer and actress in the 1960/70s, was from the area and ran two local pubs (The Ironbridge Tavern & The Rose and Crown) which were frequented by Bacon and his biographer.”
