“Sicily was once considered the bread basket of Rome and this art is dedicated to the wheat cycle. In Prizzi Sicily, I was surprised at the extremities of climate; chilly and windy at night but with a blazing sun during the day. I imagined what it might have been like harvesting wheat in that relentless sun.”
