“What I love about this process of narrative pot making is that, to me, it is as much about the continuity of an ancient art form as opposed to always pursuing something ‘new’.
The bird vessel, for instance, is as present in Ancient Egypt as it is Picasso’s studio… Each with an unique personality and intention of course, but certainly relevant to each other. This is the alignment that makes clay as an artistic medium so attractive to me… It’s already familiar. To make my own drawings in the clay just seems natural”
