“L’artista Robert Morris, la cui carriera si è protratta per più di mezzo secolo e ha abbracciato la danza, la scultura, la Land art e molte altre modalità, è morto all’età di 87 anni. La sua morte, di polmonite, a Kingston, New York, è stata confermato da sua moglie, Lucile Michaels Morris, a Ken Johnson nel New York Times.
Le prime opere dell’artista, nella prima metà degli anni ’60, che hanno aiutato a pionare il linguaggio della scultura Minimal e dell’Arte Concettuale, sarebbero state sufficienti per assicurarsi il suo posto nel podio dell’arte contemporanea del dopoguerra, ma lui ha continuato a sperimentare senza sosta anche negli anni successivi producendo opere con feltro drappeggiato che suggeriscono presenze corporee, esperimenti in arte sparsa e opere su larga scala che prendono la forma di labirinti….”
