“We believe in the power of art to bring people together and create a sense of belonging.
Every time we paint in public, the piece is not finished till the community gives its own interpretation.
This is exactly what happened with this piece. In the past month, the community from Gragnano lost one of their teenagers, Alessandro. Social media bullying may have prompted the boy to make the decision to take his own life.
This is a reminder that social media can be a dangerous tool. It’s important to remember that it is not reality, and it should not be used as an outlet for bullying or shaming others. Please be mindful of what you post, because your words have the power to change lives.
Alessandro will be remembered through this mural, which is a gift to him, his family and community.”
